To provide capacity building through the relevant use of 3D immersive virtual worlds and social media to enhance access and delivery of HIV/AIDS awareness information, health education resources, STI and HIV testing information and related services within target populations.
Established in 2010 to continue the ongoing work of providing relevant health promotion and disease prevention information to African-Americans and other high risk populations impacted by HIV and AIDS in the Baltimore Metropolitan Statistical Area. CHARE Project was launched by by Sally S. Cherry, BS, MT(ASCP).
CHARE Project team activities are centered on projects and programs pertaining to HIV/AIDS awareness, destigmatizing of HIV/AIDS, African-Americans and HIV/AIDS, women's health, STI laboratory methods training, social media messaging, 3D immersive virtual worlds, and related health disparities.
